The Red-Crested Korhaan (Lophotis ruficrista) is found in most parts of the Southern Africa. They are omnivorus (they eat insects, seeds and fruit )and are found in a range of woodland habitasts.

Hidden amongst the Leadwood, Acaia Thorn and Marula trees, the sun rose one moring over the wooden decks and canvas tent roofs of Mulati Safari Lodge. Birds woke up and started their song, the Fish Eagle cry could be heard while a grazing herd of giraffes simply stepped past the safari camp on their way to the waterhole.

The Sable breeding project was introduced to Mulati Safari Camp, Limpopo, South Africa. It was an initiative taken to expand on the already diverse antelope species available to see on the property. A start-up herd of females, female calves and one bull was introduced. It was felt that having one of Africa’s most majestic antelope species on the conservancy would create new excitement amongst guests visiting and allow them the opportunity to see them in real life.

The exciting new launce of the Culture and Heritage Shongololo Project took place at the 2012 Indaba that was hosted at the ICC in Durban the past week. We had quite a number of press releases and media briefings to attend and the two that’s most memorable were the live interview we had on the BBC UK tourism radio and the interview with Johnny Clegg the patron of the new Culture and Heritage Shongololo Project. The Murchison Leisure Group requested to be part of the implementation and rollout plan and will assist the Heritage and Culture Tourism Strategy.
